Small Business Association:
SBA offers a variety of loan programs. The SBA Guaranteed loan program is able to help a local lender finance most any business need. The SBA can help facilitate a loan for you with lender, guarantee a bond, or help you find venture capital. One of the programs is the CDC/504 Loan Program provides financing for major fixed assets such as equipment or real estate.
SCORE East Central Iowa:
A Cedar Rapids-based organization is comprised of former CEO's, business owners, and company managers who volunteer their time to assist with small business startups. SCORE members regularly teach business classes at Kirkwood Community College and assist with business plans, financing options, marketing strategies and more. Small Business Development Centers (SBDC):
The centers are committed to entrepreneurial development throughout the State of Iowa. The SBDC that serves Cedar County is located at the University of Iowa in Iowa City and is associated with the College of Business Administration and IOWA Centers for Enterprise. The center works with the School of Management to provide research, counseling, and assistance to businesses. Call 319-335-3742 for more information.
